A vistit to the "Gallery of BC Ceramics" is an interesting, rewarding and fun experience. For pottery lovers, this destination is a must, and for those who are not die-hard, clay-loving enthusiasts, you'll be converted by the time you leave!
The gallery represents almost a hundred different artists, so the range is really good - excellent diversity and selection. The staff members are friendly and knowledgeable, and will readily share stories about the artists - they'll also explain the many different techniques used to create the pieces you'll see.
Some of the methods are fascinating, there's a lot more to it than meets the eye. The gallery sells both functional and decorative work. Functional pieces include mugs, bowls, teapots, plates and vases, while the decorative offerings include wall hangings and sculptural work, also jewellery. Be sure to check out the puffer fish teapot, and see if you can figure out what a "salt dog" is...
